Kottiyam police have arrested a 30-year-old man who is accused of selling intimate videos of his wife to pornographic sites. He also faces charges under POCSO for committing obscene acts in front of his 4-year-old daughter. He went absconding after his wife filed a complaint with the police.

Kottiyam police said he was held from Kollam. Two cases were charged against him. He was booked for assault and under relevant provisions of the IT Act. Later, his wife filed another complaint alleging that he indulged in exhibitionism in front of his daughter. She also produced videos as evidence. The complainant has withdrawn the petition filed in the High Court demanding that the probe be conducted by the SP.

Advocate Prasanth V Kurup, who represents the complainant, said the petition was withdrawn after POCSO charges were included in the case. "Evidence was shown to a team led by Chathannur ACP, following which POCSO was slapped on the accused. The child was also presented before a child psychologist and a statement was recorded," said Kurup.

According to the woman's complaint, the accused showed traits of sexual perversion and was addicted to porn videos. She had warned him against recording her private videos. Later, she came to know through her friends that her videos were being circulated on porn sites. The woman said in her complaint that when she confronted him over this behaviour, he threatened to kill her.

The couple, who were in the UK, arrived for counselling on August 14 in Kerala. He was subjected to counselling on August 15 and 19. Even after counselling, the woman found him flashing in front of their daughter and doing obscene acts. When the woman informed her parents about the matter, the accused allegedly slammed her head with an iron box and kicked her when she fell on the floor.

The complaint says that the accused had recorded nude videos of women, including those of his family. The police said digital evidence will be collected as part of further investigation.
