Shine and Shilpa’s brand new house at Varkala in Thiruvananthapuaram, Kerala has already become the talk of the town for its smart designs and functional features. The fabulous abode, completed on a moderate budget, is a fine example of a brilliant home designing on a very small plot.
The compound wall and the wall of the column structure are built using cement blocks. Meanwhile, the gate is made in GI. Toughened glass and MS have been used for the parapet wall. The glass roof on the terrace lends a chic look to the exteriors. The elevation, designed in the contemporary style is truly eye-catching.
This splendid house, designed in 1319 sqft, stands on a mere 3.75 cents plot. The house has a sit-out, living and dining areas, kitchen and the master bedroom on the ground floor. Meanwhile, the upper floor has a living area and two more bedrooms. Both interiors and the exteriors have all the features and facilities that are required for the family.
Vitrified tiles are used for flooring in the house. Timber of jackfruit tree has been used to make the windows and the doors. The formal living area, dining space and the kitchen are designed in the open style. The custom-made furniture plays a vital role in making the interiors look elegant.
The unique stairway that takes up just a small area in the living space is an interesting feature. GI and wood are featured on this very compact yet beautiful stairway. The niche on the wall and the gypsum paneling on the ceiling are other eye catching design elements in the interiors.
The dining area is arranged in minimal space. The dining table and the chairs are made in jackfruit tree timber. Toughened glass is used as the table top. Meanwhile, the partition has been made in MDF with paint finish.
The dining space and the kitchen are in the open style. The open kitchen has cabinets and cupboards done in marine plywood with mica finish. The counter top, meanwhile, is paved with granite. Though the kitchen is arranged in a smaller space, it is equipped with lots of storage spaces to make it extremely functional. Unique flooring separates the kitchen from the rest of the house.
The amazingly furnished upper living area is incredibly attractive and has a great vibe to it. Interestingly, the landing of the stairway has been turned into the upper living area. The glass wall that brings in mesmerizing views of nature and the book shelf in the shape of a tree are the most attractive features here. There are three bedrooms in this house.
The house has been designed giving prime importance to functionality and excellent utility of spaces. Moreover, the construction of the house was completed on a moderate budget of Rs 28 lakh. The family, meanwhile, is elated that they got a stunning house with all the modern amenities, that too in a very small space.
