Pain on the knee is a common problem faced by elderly people. Even though it makes their everyday life very difficult, most of them endure the pain for the rest of their lives. However, a surgical process termed knee replacement surgery that lasts barely two hours can solve the problem. It is, in fact, among the most effective procedures in modern medicine.

Wear and tear of the knee or arthritis could be the causes of the pain. In most cases, neither medicines nor physiotherapy would ease the suffering.

Now, here is a great opportunity for patients suffering from the condition to interact with doctors and clear their doubts on the causes of the pain, conditions requiring knee replacement surgery, tests to be done before the surgery and treatment methods.

Manorama Online and Rajagiri Hospital, Aluva are organising a free awareness webinar on knee replacement surgery from 6 pm on February 25.

At the event, doubts will be cleared by doctors at Rajagiri Hospital including Dr Murukan Babu, senior consultant and head of the Orthopaedics Department; Dr T C Ranjith, senior consultant in Orthopaedics; Dr Tom Jose, senior consultant, Orthopaedics and Dr Ameer S Theruvath, senior consultant, Orthopaedics and Spine Surgery.

Apart from doubts on knee replacement surgery, the experts will also provide answers to questions on sport injuries, degenerative joint diseases, paediatric orthopaedic pelvic trauma and spine surgery.

Participants at the webinar can also take part in the medical camp to be organised at Rajagiri Hospital, Aluva on February 28, March 2 and 4 at concessional rates.
