Concerned by his extremely thin look on the set of a film, Jr NTR's fans and followers have been wondering whether he is on any weight loss drug. The biggest speculation was that he might be on Ozempic. However, the actor's team recently clarified to the media that he is not, but is on a new diet for an upcoming project with Prashanth Neel. Apparently, he has been on the diet since February.
The actor has revealed in various interviews about his high-protein, low-fat balanced meals and intense workouts and training. With many in the film industry turning to Ozempic, also known as semaglutide, it's no surprise that such speculations arose among film enthusiasts. Celebs like Oprah Winfrey and Sharon Osbourne have also openly acknowledged that they use the drug for weight loss. Meanwhile, the drug is not yet available in India.
A few days ago, the US Food and Drug Administration also warned of fake Ozempic-type 2 diabetes injection drugs as well. Counterfeit products - labelled with lot numbers PAR0362 and serial numbers starting with the first eight digits 51746517 were also seized from the market. People in possession of the fake medicines were also instructed to get in touch with the medicine's producers, Novo Nordisk. Eli Lilly's weight loss drug Mounjaro was launched in India a few weeks ago. The weekly-once injection costs Rs 4,375 for mg vial and Rs 3,500 for a 2.5 mg vial. The medicine mimics the hormones GLP1 and GIP, which control appetite, slow digestion, and regulate blood sugar. Meanwhile, Semaglutide mimics only the GLP1 hormone.
