Actor Rajesh Keshav, who has been undergoing treatment following a heart attack, is showing signs of progress. According to his friend and co-actor Prathap Jayalakshmi, who shared an update on Rajesh’s health, “Rajesh has been bedridden for 60 days. It has been over a month since he was admitted to Vellore Medical College. To those asking if Rajesh has opened his eyes, the answer is yes. However, his focus still needs to improve,” Prathap wrote.
Prathap’s Facebook post:
“Many have been asking me how Rajesh is doing. Over the past couple of weeks, I have been travelling and haven’t been able to respond properly. My apologies to everyone. I have been receiving updates from Rupesh every day, but I felt it was right to visit in person and share the news. Today marks 60 days since Rajesh has been bedridden, and over a month since his admission to Vellore Medical College.
“He is under the care of the PMR Department (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Polymyalgia Rheumatica), where various therapies are being coordinated. Many of these therapies are new to us, even though some were mentioned earlier.
“Speech therapy and physiotherapy sessions start in the morning, which is not usual for most of us. Occupational therapy sessions in the afternoon, along with their timing, often test both the patience and mental strength of the patient and caregivers. We deeply appreciate the dedication and perseverance of the therapists, who repeatedly guide Rajesh without showing fatigue.
“While the answer to whether Rajesh has opened his eyes is yes, his focus still needs improvement. With his hearing confirmed, doctors are now able to carry out more therapies. At times, Rajesh falls half-asleep or refuses a session, which can be stressful for those around him.
“Still, everyone here is working patiently and carefully to provide maximum treatment. We are grateful to well-wishers like Venu Kunnappilly who have supported his care. We also send love to those sending voice notes to help him recover.
“There is still a long road ahead. Treatment may continue for up to six months. During this time, hearing stories of small miracles has boosted our confidence. Rajesh is also being kept informed about updates, including the release of his film Innocent and other projects like Vadakkan Therottam, in which he acted alongside Dhyan.
“Hearing these updates elicits responses from him, and these small movements give us hope. We can continue to wait for the day when Rajesh, lying in bed, waves at us with a smile. Our prayers and love for him remain steadfast.”
This emotional update has drawn attention from fans, highlighting both Rajesh’s slow recovery and the unwavering support of his family and colleagues.
