One dead as two coaches of Tatanagar–Ernakulam Express catch fire in Andhra Pradesh

A man died after two coaches of the Tatanagar–Ernakulam Express (18189) were gutted by fire at Yalamanchili, around 66 km from Visakhapatnam, a senior police official said on Monday. The police received an alert about the blaze at 12.45 am, the official said.
According to the official, 82 passengers were travelling in one of the affected coaches and 76 in the other at the time of the incident. “Unfortunately, a dead body was found on the B1 coach,” the official told reporters.
The victim was identified as Chandrsekhar Sundaram. Railway authorities detached the two damaged coaches from the train, which later continued its journey to Ernakulam.
Officials said arrangements would be made to transport passengers from the affected coaches to their destinations. Meanwhile, two forensic teams have begun an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, the police official added.
