Mararikulam: The floods in Kerala did not deter them reaching the state from faraway Czech Republic to enter the wedlock.

It was also a message for all those who love to visit the state from all around the world that everything is safe here even after the deluge.

The wedding ceremony conducted at Marari Beach Resort at 11 am on Saturday was the culmination of a three-and-a-half-year affair between blog writers Sonia Kotulkova and Michael Harbeck.

Around 50 guests witnessed the event, which was solemnized in traditional Kerala Hindu style. A feast was arranged for 30 people at the venue.

This is the couple’s second visit to Kerala together. When they reached the state for the first time the floods inundated several places. However, the catastrophe did not deter Sonia and Michael from their plan to hold the ceremony here.

While Sonia is a former editor of ‘Maxim’ lifestyle magazine, Michael is the editor of a Czech news agency.

Both of them said that they would write at length on Kerala post floods and also about their wedding in their blogs.

The newly-weds are returning to their home country on Sunday.
