Kerala on Saturday reported 719 fresh cases of COVID-19.

After 915 recoveries were recorded on the day, there are 6,148 active cases in Kerala.

Test Positivity Rate (TPR) on the day was 3.55% after 20,250 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.

Kerala's COVID toll reached 67,315 after five recent deaths and 113 previously undocumented ones were made official by the health department.

Ernakulam had the most number of cases (152) followed by Thiruvananthapuram (135) and Kottayam (76).

Of the 698 persons hospitalised with COVID in Kerala, 98 were fresh admissions. There are 19,627 under observation in the state, of whom 18,929 are in home/institutional quarantine.

At least seven healthcare workers were infected on the day while the source of infection in 51 remains unknown.Of the new cases, 660 contracted the virus through contact.

The highest number of recoveries were reported in Kozhikode (140) followed by Thiruvananthapuram (138) and Ernakulam (137).
