COVID: Kerala logs 702 fresh cases; TPR at 2.88%

Kerala on Tuesday reported 702 fresh cases of COVID-19 and 730 recoveries from the infection.
Test Positivity Rate (TPR) on the day was 2.88% after 24,313 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
Ernakulam district logged the highest number of cases (146) followed by Thiruvananthapuram (87) and Kottayam (76).
COVID toll in Kerala reached 67,415 after 48 previously undocumented fatalities and four recent deaths were added to the official list.
Of the 5,353 active cases in Kerala, 10.4% (597) are hospitalised. There were 80 fresh admissions on the day.
There are 17,541 under observation in the state, of whom 16,944 are in home/institutional quarantine.
On the recovery front, Thiruvananthapuram topped the list with 138 followed by Ernakulam (103) and Kozhikode (99).
At least eight healthcare workers were infected on the day while 663 of the fresh cases contracted the virus through contacts.
