Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala on Saturday recorded 331 fresh COVID-19 infections, thus taking the total caseload to 65,33,476.

The state also reported 74 deaths which raised the total fatalities in Kerala to 68,066, according to a government release.

Of the deaths, one was reported within the past twenty four hours, eight were those which occurred in the last few days but were not recorded due to late receipt of documents and 65 were designated as COVID-19 deaths after receiving appeals based on the new guidelines of the Centre and the directions of the Supreme Court.

With 478 more people recovering from the virus since Friday, the active cases in the state dropped to 2,836 .

As many as 15,230 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
