Pathanamthitta: In a breakthrough, Ranni police in Pathanamthitta district have found a suicide note from the house where a young woman and her one-and-half-year-old daughter were found dead with severe burns a few days ago. It is likely the woman, Rincy, set her daughter and herself on fire.

The suicide note does not mention the reason for taking the extreme step.

“I am ending my life,” says the one-line note.

The investigation officials have decided to examine phone calls made by Rincy in the days before the death.

Rincy, a native of Ethala, Meenmutty, and her daughter Alhana were found dead inside the house with severe burns. At that time only Rincy and her daughter were in the house.

Since the relatives staying close by didn’t see them outside the house for a long time, they went and enquired. They broke open the door and saw the bodies lying inside the house.

The bodies were cremated after postmortem at the Kottayam Medical College Hospital.
