Kannur: DMK supremo and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin arrived in Kannur to attend a seminar to be held on the sidelines of the 23rd CPM Party Congress on Saturday.

The CPM delegates at the venue are excited over the presence of Stalin, who himself has been named after a major figure in the Marxist pantheon worldwide, viz., former leader of the Soviet Union Joseph Stalin.

Stalin is the chief guest at the seminar which is on the topic 'Centre-State relationship’ is scheduled for Saturday evening. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate it at 5 pm.

Both CPM and DMK are vehemently opposed to the right-wing forces in the country. Both could be part of a broader coalition against the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

A few days ago CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury had touted Stalin as the man most suitable to spearhead the anti-BJP front at the national level.

The seminar has already created a buzz over the presence of the Tamil Nadu CM and rebel Congress leader K V Thomas. The cyber wing of the CPM is promoting Stalin's attendance in the party function in a big way.
