Malappuram: Nilambur MLA PV Anvar MLA on Monday expressed his willingness to join forces with the United Democratic Front (UDF) to oust the Pinarayi-led government, emphasising that the fight will now be a collective effort rather than an individual one. He also expressed his readiness to make necessary compromises for this cause, extending gratitude to UDF leaders who supported him following his recent arrest.

Anvar made these remarks shortly after being released on bail in the Nilambur forest office vandalism case. He was freed from judicial custody around 8:30 pm on Monday after spending nearly 20 hours in jail. DMK workers and supporters gathered outside the prison to greet him with sweets and celebrations upon his release.

Expressing his gratitude, Anwar said, "I thank the public for their support and God for his blessings. I am also grateful to Muslim League leaders like Panakkad Thangal and PK Kunhalikutty and Congress leaders K Sudhakaran, VD Satheesan, and Ramesh Chennithala for supporting me. The judiciary has delivered justice."

He also criticised the state government, accusing it of targeting minorities and claiming it had suffered a major setback. He also alleged that the forest amendment law alienated the Christian community and worsened human-wildlife conflicts, adding that it granted excessive powers to officials.

He defended the DMK worker's protest to the forest office as an emotional response. "Only minor damages worth approximately Rs 2,000 occurred—two plastic chairs, a tube light, and a fan. However, Rs 35,000 has already been deposited as compensation."
