Kollam: A couple was found dead at their residence in Yeroor on Sunday in a suspected case of murder-suicide. The deceased are Reji (56) and Prashobha (50), residents of Aazhathippara. According to the police, Reji was found hanging in the bedroom, while Prashobha’s body, bearing multiple stab wounds, was found in a pool of blood on the kitchen floor. Preliminary investigation suggests that Reji killed his wife before taking his own life. The couple is survived by two daughters.

Neighbours told the police that Reji, often under the influence of alcohol, frequently fought with his wife. They also reported hearing arguments from the house on Saturday night.

Around 1 pm on Sunday, one of the daughters visited the house after being unable to reach Prashobha over the phone. On looking through the window, she saw her father hanging. She alerted the neighbours, who broke open the door and found the bodies. The Yeroor police have registered a case and launched a detailed investigation.
