Thiruvananthapuram: Permanent employees of the Kerala State Beverages Corporation Limited (BEVCO) are in for festive cheer, with the government announcing an Onam bonus of up to ₹1,02,000. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Excise Minister MB Rajesh on Friday, attended by representatives of all BEVCO unions. This is the highest bonus ever distributed by the corporation.

The government said the record payout recognises staff contributions to BEVCO’s impressive turnover of ₹19,700 crore in the last financial year.

Cleaning and contract staff at outlets and headquarters will receive ₹6,000 as bonus, up from ₹5,000 last year. In 2024, permanent employees had received bonuses of up to ₹95,000.

To comply with government bonus regulations, BEVCO will disburse the amount under two heads—performance incentive and ex gratia. As per the official data in 2024, the corporation employs around 5,000 staff across its outlets and offices.
