Senior Congress leader K Sudhakaran on Saturday criticised Opposition Leader V D Satheesan for attending the Onam feast with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Sudhakaran said it was inappropriate for Satheesan to join the Chief Minister for the sadhya, especially as the visuals of the Kunnamkulam custodial torture had just come out.

“It went wrong. If it were me, I wouldn’t have done that,” Sudhakaran told the media in Kannur. He also accused Satheesan of failing to raise the issue strongly when a party worker had been subjected to custodial assault.

When asked by journalists whether the Opposition Leader should have skipped the Chief Minister’s Onam feast, Sudhakaran replied that it would not be proper for him to comment on that. He added that it was enough for the media to highlight that party workers had such sentiments.
