Alappuzha: A houseboat was completely gutted in a fire near Chithira Lake on Saturday afternoon, though no injuries were reported. The incident occurred around 4.30 pm when two passengers were on board.

On noticing smoke, the boat was docked and the passengers were safely evacuated. Fire and Rescue officials said the blaze appeared to have originated from the engine area, though the exact cause is yet to be confirmed.
