Pathanamthitta: A forest watcher was killed by a tiger in the Ponnambalamedu forest area. The body of Anil Kumar (28), a watcher attached to the Periyar Tiger Reserve, was found inside the forest on Tuesday. He was reported missing for the past two days. 

According to his family, he went to collect forest produce on Sunday. When he didn't return by evening, the family members grew anxious and started searching for him. The forest authorities and police were also told that he was missing. 

During an extensive search conducted on Tuesday, officials discovered his body in a partially eaten state. The remains were found scattered in multiple parts of the forest. Forest officials with the Pamba range are camping in the area. Moozhiyar police also reached the spot.
