Muvattupuzha: A private bus conductor had a miraculous escape after he fell onto the road from the speeding bus. Although he narrowly avoided being run over, he sustained a leg injury in the accident.
The conductor, Kannan, a native of Vannappuram who works on the Muvattupuzha–Kaliyar route, slipped onto the road when the bus, travelling from Muvattupuzha to Kaliyar, skidded while negotiating a turn near Pulinthanam Bridge.

Kannan narrowly avoided being caught under the rear wheels of the bus. CCTV footage of the incident, captured by a camera near the bridge, has gone viral on social media, prompting the Motor Vehicles Department to launch an investigation.

Commuters said that many buses on this route violate safety rules by leaving their doors open after picking up passengers. Locals have demanded strict action against the erring bus staff.
