Cherupuzha: Despite having a newly tarred and well-maintained road, residents along the Prappoyil East–Eyyankallu–Kunderi–Moonnamkunnu–Rayarom route continue to struggle due to the absence of regular bus services. The route connects the Cherupuzha and Alakkodu panchayats.

Efforts had earlier been initiated under the leadership of local MLAs to start bus services on routes without regular connectivity. However, no steps have yet been taken to launch services along the Prappoyil East–Eyyankallu–Kunderi–Moonnamkunnu–Rayarom stretch.

The road, recently upgraded with macadum tarring by spending several crores of rupees, is now motorable, but the delay in starting bus services has left the people here stranded. At present, only one private bus operates through the route.

Several KSRTC buses currently run services to Alakkodu from different parts of Kasargod district via Cherupuzha. Residents point out that their travel woes could be easily addressed if a few KSRTC buses are rerouted through the Prappoyil East–Eyyankallu–Kunderi–Moonnamkunnu–Rayarom corridor.
