Kasaragod: 
Anirudh Prashanth (22), son of journalist and filmmaker Prashanth Kanathur, was found dead at his residence in Bengaluru. Police suspect suicide.

Anirudh, a 3D artist, had been working with Nova Design Labs, an animation and post-production studio in Bengaluru, for the past year. When he did not report for work for two days, colleagues went to his house and found him hanging, according to information conveyed to the family.

The body has been shifted to the mortuary, and further details are awaited. The family, originally from Kasaragod's Kanathur, is now based in Chennai.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Anirudh aspired to build a career in 3D art and graphic design, with a particular focus on video games.
His mother is Maya, and his sister Aishwarya is a student in Chennai.

His father, Prashanth Kanathur, who has worked as a journalist and documentary filmmaker, made his feature film debut with Station 5 (2022) starring Indrans. The film won the Best Debut Director award at the Karnataka International Film Festival.
