Bathery: The leadership camp organised by the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) in Wayanad has decided to appoint social media coordinators at the booth level, in addition to the president and other office-bearers.

The guidelines prepared at the camp, titled Lakshya 2026, recognise the importance of booth committees in preventing the loss of traditional Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) votes due to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voters’ list and ward delimitation.

The duties of the social media coordinators include sharing posts from the official handles of party leaders and committees. They will also lead region-specific discussions on social media. Additionally, the coordinators have been directed to create booth-level WhatsApp groups to widen the reach of the party’s campaigns. KPCC will soon conduct training camps to prepare coordinators for their roles.

Meanwhile, the party’s booth-level meetings have been scheduled from February 1 to 9. Another programme planned is a night camp at the constituency level to examine and analyse the voters’ lists.

Mathew Kuzhalnadan, MLA, presented a model of the online helpdesk for SIR-related services at the Wayanad camp. The helpline, which will function round the clock, will enable people to verify whether their names are on the voters’ list and also enrol by providing their details via a WhatsApp number.
