Sanju Samson's struggles in the T20I series against England continued after he was dismissed for three runs in the third match in Rajkot on Tuesday. Sanju had made a decent 26 in the first match at Eden Gardens but fell for five runs in the second T20I in Chennai. On all three occasions, Jofra Archer dismissed the swashbuckling opener.

Sanju rushed into a pull shot in Kolkata and was caught on the ropes. In Chennai, he was beaten for pace while trying to work one fired in at 92 mph on the leg side. In Rajkot, Archer once again proved too quick for Sanju.

The Kerala cricketer entered the series under controversial circumstances after falling out with his state association regarding the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Sanju was not part of Kerala's campaign in the 50-over domestic tournament.

Sanju's exclusion from next month's Champions Trophy had been hotly debated in the run-up to the England series. However, he was expected to bat freely and score a hatful in the series against England, considering his previous T20I show in South Africa produced two centuries.

While Archer has proven to be Sanju's nemesis in the series, he would be glad to learn that they are teammates in the upcoming IPL. Rajasthan Royals, led by Sanju, secured English pacer Archer from the recent mega auction for Rs 12.5 crore. The IPL will begin on March 21.
