The BCCI on Monday announced a cash award of ₹51 crore for the Indian team that won its maiden ICC Women's World Cup title.

"BCCI announces Cash Prize of INR 51 Crore for India's victorious ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 contingent," the cricket board said in a post on X.

The team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, defeated South Africa by 52 runs in the final held at the Navi Mumbai Stadium on Sunday. The hosts posted a score of 298/7 batting first, against which South Africa fell short at 246. Shafali Verma scored 87 runs and took two wickets to claim the Player of the Match award. Deepti Sharma took five wickets. Meanwhile, Laura Wolvaardt's ton for South Africa did not help them clinch the victory.

The cash award will be distributed among the players, support staff and selection committee, in recognition of their remarkable performance, dedication and contribution to the nation's sporting glory, the Board said in a statement.
