After a thumping 10-wicket win, Kerala suffered a humbling loss in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy, losing by 32 runs to Railways in Lucknow on Friday. Kerala were restricted to 117/8 in response to Railways' total of 149/7.

Kerala had crushed Odisha by 10 wickets in their tournament opener on Wednesday, with skipper Sanju Samson and Rohan S Kunnummal adding a record 177-run opening wicket partnership.

But today, Kerala could not stitch up even 30 runs in partnerships at any point, and no batter managed in excess of 19, which was the contribution of captain Sanju.

Last match centurion, Rohan made 8 off 14, while Ankit Sharma remained unbeaten on 15 off 11. Salman Nizar (18) and Akhil Scaria (16) added 27 for the sixth wicket. Kerala will play Chhattisgarh on Sunday.
