Sanju Samson falls for 22 on first start in T20 World Cup; Namibia opted to bowl

Sanju Samson has returned to the opening role after missing India's T20 World Cup opener against the United States. The Kerala star opened the innings alongside Ishan Kishan as Abhishek Sharma missed out due to illness. India were sent in to bat first by Namibia skipper Gerhard Erasmus, who beat his counterpart Suryakumar Yadav at the toss. The match is being held in Delhi.
How's it going?
Sanju's poor run in T20Is continued as he was dismissed for 22 off 8 balls. An off-cutter from Shikongo deceived Sanju, who was early into his shot and gave an easy catch to Steenkamp at long on. Just before that, he only scored in boundaries, hitting a hat-trick of sixes and a four to fetch his 22 runs.
After finishing Trumpelmann's first over with a straight six, Sanju flicked Shikongo for a pair in the first two balls. He then lifted the right-arm pacer over the cover for a boundary, before the dismissal.
India defeated the USA by 29 runs, while Namibia lost their opener against the Netherlands by 7 wickets.
For Sanju, this is a rare chance to rediscover his form and put himself in contention once again. Sanju had a poor outing in the recent T20I series against New Zealand, in which he opened in all five matches, but only managed 46 runs.
