India are set to play Bangladesh in Dhaka after 22 years when they clash in a final round qualifier for the AFC Asian Cup. Though both India and Bangladesh have been knocked out, the match is vital for Khalid Jamil's India, which is on a five-match winless run. India's latest FIFA ranking of 136 is also the worst in nine years.

India and Bangladesh last met in Dhaka during in the 2003 SAFF Gold Cup, with the hosts winning 2-1. The most recent meeting between the neighbours was on March 25 this year in Shillong, during the opening game of the third-round qualifiers. The match, which was the first of former Premier League player Hamza Choudhury in Bangladesh colours, ended goalless.

"We know it’s a pressure game," India head coach Khalid Jamil said. "But we need to keep our focus and build on our work to get a positive result.

"We are following our plan. Bangladesh have good players and so do we. We are thinking about our opponents as a whole. It’s a very important game. We must think properly, stay calm, and aim for a positive result," Jamil said.
