Young Indian singles star Ayush Shetty had a first-round exit in the China Masters Super 750 badminton tournament in Shenzhen, China.
Shetty lost to sixth-seeded and World No 5 Chou Tien Chen of Chinese Taipei, 19-21, 21-12, 16-21, in little over an hour.
Last week, 20-year-old Shetty had upset former World No 2 Kodai Naraoka to reach the quarterfinals of the Hong Kong Open.
Meanwhile, double Olympic medallist P V Sindhu drubbed Julie Dawall Jakobsen of Denmark, 21-4, 21-10, to advance to the women's singles pre-quarterfinals.
Sindhu took just 27 minutes to defeat Jakobsen and overcome her opening-round blues in Hong Kong just 10 days ago, where she lost to Dane Line Christophersen.
