Gold price in the domestic markets increased following Operation Sindoor.
US President Donald Trump's decision to impose tariffs on foreign-made films drove investors to turn to gold, impacting the domestic gold price.
In Kerala, 24 karat gold was priced at ₹9,791 per gram on Wednesday, while 22 karat and 18 karat gold stood at ₹8,975 and ₹7,344 per gram respectively.
However, the quantity of gold purchased by customers has declined compared to previous years.
Forecasts proved right — 2025 is indeed turning out to be the year of gold.
Gold prices saw a significant increase of ₹5,560 in the last ten days alone.
The price of 22k gold also rose by ₹95 on the day, climbing from ₹8,720 to ₹8,815 per gram.
Experts note that the uncertainty has created favorable conditions for gold, which is predicted to climb to new heights this year.
The price jumped by ₹120 to touch ₹70,160 per sovereign (8 grams), compared to ₹69,960 on Friday.
In just three days, the price of gold in Kerala has increased by ₹4,160 per sovereign and ₹520 per gram.
