Kunnappilly has been charged under IPC Sections 362 (abduction), 323 (causing voluntary hurt), 354 (outraging the modesty of a woman) and 506 (criminal intimidation).

Thrikkakara police, who probed the case, said the chargesheet was filed in a local court and rape charges have been levelled against the director.
According to police, many women have been raising sexual harassment charges against Vineeth via phone but are unwilling to file written complaints due to fear of damage to their reputation.
Court sources said the order has been issued on a complaint lodged by a woman writer belonging to the Scheduled Tribes community, alleging sexual harassment by Civic Chandran during a book exhibition in April.
