Thrissur: The MEDISEP insurance scheme, designed to cover the medical expenses of government employees and pensioners, has come to an abrupt halt. Since March 14, hospitals have been unable to upload data to the MEDISEP portal using their login credentials. Calls to the helpline have also gone
10 more health emergencies, including getting struck by lightning and snake bite, have been included in the list of diseases that would be reimbursed for getting emergency treatment at non-empanelled hospitals.
Nearly 32 lakh are expected to benefit.
The revised premium rates under Phase 2 will come into effect only after the new phase is formally implemented.
The amount will be deducted from pensioners as well.
The Commission imposed a fine of ₹1,91,452 on the company while considering the MEDISEP beneficiary's complaint.
If corrections are needed or if a person has been excluded or needs to be added, employees must apply their respective DDOs before September 10
Only those under the Social Security Pension scheme will be eligible for pensions under the coverage.
Beneficiaries will now receive up to ₹18 lakh for a liver transplant.
In the second phase, MEDISEP will also have 10 types of grave illness and organ replacement packages.
