Due to poor occupancy, amid the COVID-19 second wave, the Southern Railway on Friday announced to cancel a list of special trains.
The rising COVID-19 cases in the country have forced the Railways to delay the resumption of the services of ordinary passenger trains.
Both the railway divisions in the state, Thiruvananthapuram and Palakkad, are facing an acute shortage of coaches.
The diversion is due to the safety maintenance and re-girdering of bridge 351 on the Ettumanoor-Kottayam line.
The Southern Railway has also permitted the revalidation of season tickets. This facility has been extended to the passengers, whose season tickets had validity after March 24, 2020.
IRCTC will be restarting its Corporate Tejas Express train on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai route from February 14.
The Punalur-Guruvayur train, which was raised to the status of Express, will have six stoppages in Kottayam district.
