Kochi: The Kerala High Court here on Monday granted anticipatory bail to Congress leader and lawyer Laly Vincent in a cheating case related to the multi-crore CSR fund scam. As per the case, Ananthu Krishnan, the prime accused in the scam, transferred ₹47,74,500 swindled from people to the Congress
The CSR fund scam defrauded a large number of people across the state.
Police registered a total of 690 cases over the scam.
The probe team will also confiscate assets owned by Ananthu and his benamis under the provisions of the Act.
The landslide survivors said that they did not initially suspect the fraud as all transactions were made through Akshaya centres.
Several years ago, Ananthu was booked in a cheque-bouncing case.
With an offer so tempting that any ordinary Malayali would fall for it.
The fraudters used Kudumbashree for finding applicants to the scheme.
