Hello
Complaint lodged against MLA for alleged violation of bar council rule, 'a person enrolled as lawyer not permitted to run commercial enterprise'.
The matter is being investigated by the Ponkunnam police based on a complaint filed by the Kanjirappally Bar Association.
C S Ajithan Namboothiri, the Vice-chairman of the Council, said that some fake advocates were detected when the applications that have been received till now were scrutinised.
The Council passed a resolution on Sunday that has called for a legislative solution instead.
Justice Shaji P. Chaly directed the Bar Council to accept the applications from the petitioners subject to payment of a fee of Rs 750 prescribed under law, and not to collect anything more than that for the time being.
The Special Investigation Team has been formed under the supervision of Crime Branch ADGP Darvesh Sahib.
Anilkumar said the decision was taken at an urgent meeting of the Council this evening.
The Vigilance report says that the advocate had received bribes in the name of three judges.
It is the second time this month that the actor has approached the Bar Council alleging 'unprofessional' approach from Dileep's advocates.
Telephonic conversations between actor Dileep, who is an accused and his lawyers, were allegedly leaked by the Crime Branch.
