The top US diplomat is scheduled to hold wide-ranging talks with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, in addition to meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and attending a meeting of the Quad foreign ministers in New Delhi.
During a visit to the United States, Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to discuss strengthening bilateral ties, with a particular focus on formalizing cooperation in critical minerals exploration, mining, and processing.
The meeting came in the backdrop of ongoing trade negotiations between the two nations and the proposed bilateral trade deal between India and the US.
Rubio said Qatar could help reach the goals of releasing all 48 hostages still held in Gaza.
