Zero degrees again in Kerala's Munnar: Top spots to enjoy winter

After a month, Kerala's much-loved hill station Munnar has again become a winter haven as the temperature dips to zero. As per reports, the temperature might drop even further, while the rest of Kerala gets warmer for the onset of summer. Therefore, tourists from both Kerala and outside are planning to enjoy Munnar at its frosty best. Zero temperatures were recorded at Munnar's Chenduvarai and Letchmi Estate regions on Monday, while the adjacent areas of Devikulam, Nallathanni and Sevanmala recorded one degree Celsius. If you are wondering what to see in these places during Munnar's chilly days, here's what you should know:
Chenduvarai or Chundavurrai
A picturesque 1290-hectare estate in Munnar that often records zero degrees in winter, Chenduvarai or Chundavurrai as the local people call it, is famous for greenery, tea plantations and factories, and various viewpoints. If you want to check out places on local buses, you can also take a private bus from Munnar to Chunduvarai for a beautiful route. The local buses touch renowned tourist spots like the 'Photo Point,' Mattupetty Dam, Kundala Dam and Chunduvarai Estate on their way. Filled with small hills, pine valleys, kacha roads, and layam(accommodation for plantation workers), Chunduvurrai can offer you an authentic Munnar experience.
Letchmi
Yet another massive tea estate of Munnar, Letchmi is a favourite destination for many people who love off-road jeep trips, treks and well-curated tea plantations. Tourists love to climb on various rock formations of Letchmi to click pictures and get a 360-degree view of the place. Many resorts and budget accommodations are also near Letchmi, which are popular among local and international tourists.
Devikulam, Nallathanni and Sevanmala
The renowned Sita Devi Lake, which is believed to be linked to the legend of Ram and Sita from Ramayana, the picturesque Pallivasal Falls, various spice and tea plantations, Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary and Thoovanam Falls are the most popular tourist locations of Devikulam. South India's highest peak is Anaimudi, a renowned tea museum, Lakkam waterfalls, and the Nallathanni River, which can be experienced at Nallathanni and is often called the Gateway to the Eravikulam National Park. Birdwatching enthusiasts and trekkers love Sevanmala, which is a lesser-known location in Munnar, for its peaceful ambience and authentic local culture.
