The much-awaited city ride bus, which offers tourists a ride around Kozhikode city in an open double-decker bus, was flagged off by Kerala Tourism Minister PA Muhammad Riyas at 9 am today from the KSRTC terminal. The electric bus has an open roof that allows the passengers to enjoy 360-degree views of the historic city. The modern electric bus is manufactured by Switch Mobility, a subsidiary of the famous Hinduja Group.

The authorities plan to schedule at least five trips daily. Meanwhile, only the inaugural trip was conducted today, as the daily trips would start only after cutting off the overgrown branches and removing cables on the route.
