No public gathering; celebrations only till 10pm on New Year's Eve in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: The state disaster management department has issued an order, regulating the New Year celebrations in Kerala amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The order clearly states that all celebrations should cease by 10pm on Thursday.

Use of masks and social distancing norms should be mandatorily followed during the celebrations.

No public gatherings should be organised. Strict action would be taken if the COVID-19 protocols are not adhered to.

The order also stated that the police chiefs and Collectors in each district should ensure compliance of the restrictions.
