Muscat: The Air India has announced suspension of services from Muscat, Oman to Kannur and Hyderabad. According to the airline, the last flights on these routes would be on September 11. Meanwhile, Air India also rescheduled its flights to Mumbai from Muscat.

The Muscat-Kannur flight was Air India’s only service connecting Oman and Kerala. This service had earlier operated between Muscat and Kochi, but the route was changed to Muscat-Kannur and conducted services on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.

According to sources, poor patronage had forced Air India to withdraw the service. Incidentally, Air India Express and GoAir had recently launched services between Muscat and Kannur which led to a fall in demand for Air India.
