Vistara Airlines will fly its final routes today before its merger with Air India. The merger will also result in Singapore Airlines holding a 25.1% stake in the new airline. After November 12, Vistara's flights will operate under Air India with a unique code beginning with 2. For instance, Vistara flight UK 955 will be AI 2955 after November 12. The routes, schedules, in-flight experience, services and products will reportedly remain the same. Here are a few other details that passengers who have booked Vistara tickets for future flights should know:
1) Vistara has set up help desks at airports. Support staff wearing 'How may I assist you' t-shirts with Air India/Vistara branding will help customers with airport security, check-in procedures, directions, information, tickets, and other questions. This is true for international airports as well.
2) Vistara counters for ticketing and check-in will slowly transition to Air India counters. At self-service kiosks, you will find the notice that says, 'For Vistara flights under code A12, please select Air India for check-in.'
3) Flyers calling Vistara call centres will be redirected to Air India representatives.
4) Vistara's loyalty programme members will be transferred smoothly to Air India's loyalty programme.
5) There will be many network adjustments for flights between November 12 and December 31. For instance,
Air India is introducing its Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner on the Delhi-Bali route. Air India will also temporarily deploy Vistara’s Boeing 787-9 aircraft on these routes until December 31, 2024:
Delhi – Paris (AI 143/144)
Delhi – Frankfurt (AI 121/122)
Delhi – Dubai (Two daily frequencies)
6) Vistara will cease operations on two important European routes:
Mumbai – Frankfurt
Mumbai – Paris Charles de Gaulle
