Southern railway announces two special trains for Christmas-New Year season; reservation begins

Bengaluru: The Southern Railway has announced Hubbali – Thiruvananthapuram (via Bengaluru) and SMVT Bengaluru – Kollam special trains to ensure a comfortable rail journey during the Sabarimala pilgrimage season as well as the Christmas – New Year festive season. The return service of the Hubbali – Thiruvananthapuram special train ends at Bengaluru, while the Bengaluru – Kollam train will stop at Hubbali. Ticket reservations for these trains have already begun.
• Hubbali – Thiruvananthapuram North special (07361) starts at 6.55 am on December 23 and reaches Thiruvananthapuram by 10.30 the next morning. The train stops at Haveri, Ranebennur, Davanagere, Kadoor, Arsikere, Tumkuru, SMVT Bengaluru (2.25 pm), KR Puram (2.46 pm), Bangarapet (3.33 pm), Salem, Erode, Tirupur, Pothannur, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Changanassery, Thiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikkara, Kayamkulam, Kollam and Varkala.
• Thiruvananthapuram – SMVT Bengaluru special train (07362) starts at noon on December 24 and reaches Bengaluru at 5.50 am. The train has one second AC, three third AC, 12 sleeper and three general coaches.
• SMVT Bengaluru – Kollam special (06561) has been scheduled to start at 3 pm on December 27 and reach Kollam by 7.25 the next morning. This train stops at KR Puram, Bagarapet, Salem, Erode, Tirupur, Pothannur, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Changanassery, Thiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikkara and Kayamkulam.
• Kollam – Hubbali special (06562) starts at 10.40 am on December 28 and reaches Hubbali at 10.30 am.
