Everybody prepares a resume when applying for a new job. The resume would cover all details of previous employment including the internship done after graduation along with the educational qualifications. In addition, a covering letter is also kept ready. The soft and hard copies of both will be made.

However, in all likelihood such efforts would no longer be needed to secure a job. According to HR personnel, the days of the resume are numbered. Instead, a new recruitment process based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be in place.

Recently, leading tech firms like Tesla, Accenture and LinkedIn have started hiring people based on neuroscience and AI. This process helps determine whether a candidate is fit for that particular post. Firms like Tesla make the candidates play a game which tests their grasping ability and emotional quotient within 30 minutes. This new method was created by a hiring startup named Pymetrics.

The job seeker has to take part in a game that comprises puzzles and quizzes. The game analyses the candidate’s problem-solving powers, multitasking ability, co-operative attitude etc.

The score obtained by the candidate in the game will be compared to the average score of the best staff in the organization with the help of AI. Pymetrics creates the customized algorithm for each company by making the best 50 employees of the firm play the game. The score needed for an ideal employee is decided by the system. The system also suggests whether a candidate is suitable for the post based on the score achieved. If unsuitable for the post applied for, the system checks whether the job seeker can be appointed in any other post.

There are reports that more companies are interested in implementing this process, which makes good use of Information Technology.
