Thrikkakara: The Post Graduate department of English, Bharata Mata College, Thrikkakara will host their annual literary and cultural fest Chrysalis on February 8 here.
Chrysalis, the first inter collegiate fest for a cause, is based on the theme 'ashes to diamond'. It aims at rediscovering the hidden talents in each of us.
Chrysalis 2019 was flagged off by the Municipal Planning Commissioner Mrs Shiny Mathew.
As part of the event, the students in association with Clean Fort Kochi Foundation and Couch surfing cleaned the Fort Kochi beach with the aim of making it plastic free.
This challenge was taken up in association with the #IChallengePlasticBottle movement initiated by Fr Davis Chirammel Foundation and supported by The Rotary Club of Cochin North. The proceeds of teh event will go to the families affected by the recent floods.
This year's literary and cultural marathon will unfold in the campus premises on February 8.
The events include Mimezia (Mime It, Mind It), Terpsiballare (Solo Dace), Terpsichorus (Group Dance), The Glitteratti (theme based parade) , Chrysallis Icon (personality contest), Lassi Lasso ( Lassi Review), Visagio Hues ( Theme based face painting ), Phospero Fiammifero (Matchstick art), Brunnette’s Sonnet (Hair Do), Gag in Gag (Story writing), Clue Scoop (spot event), Pic a too (photography) and Mearley Parley (Debate).
Apart from the attractive prizes for each event ,the overall champions will receive a cash award of Rs15,000 and an ever rolling trophy, while the Runners up Champions will recieve a cash award of Rs7000.
