The EducationUSA Center at the US Consulate General in Chennai invites students joining US universities in the academic year 2019-2020 to a pre-departure orientation on Friday, July 12, 2019, 9:30 am to 3:30 pm at IC&SR Auditorium, IIT Madras Campus, Chennai.

The pre-departure orientation is designed to ease the entry of Indian students into American culture and enable them to make the most of their student life in the United States. Interactive sessions will help admitted students plan their travel, follow F1 visa rules for international students, adjust to social life, and take advantage of the rich US academic environment. The speakers include representatives from the US Consulate General in Chennai, US academics, current and former Indian students studying at US. universities.

The orientation will help Indian students manage the academic rigor, cultural adjustments, and independent student lifestyle in the United States. Students will also enjoy networking with other U.S. university-bound students.
