Entries can now be submitted for the Malayala Manorama Chief Editor’s Trophy for the best college magazine in Kerala. The Chief Editor’s Trophy comprises a cash prize of Rs 50,000, a statuette and a citation. The award will be presented to the student editor of the magazine. Editors of the second and third prize-winning magazines can take away cash prizes of Rs 30,001 and Rs 20,001 respectively. A special award worth Rs 10,001 will be presented for the best magazine layout.
Eligibility
College magazines published in 2018 or 2019 would be considered for the award. The magazine submitted for the award should be the latest issue. All college-level institutions can take part in the contest including universities, all colleges and medical, engineering, management, paramedical, nursing, polytechnic/ ITI and other professional institutions.
Deadline: July 20
How to apply
Three copies of the magazine have to be sent. In addition, the student editor should describe the unique features of the magazine in not more than a foolscap page. Mention the editor’s complete address, including phone number and e-mail ID. Include a declaration from the principal endorsing the details.
Layout award
A special award is presented to the best magazine layout. Only magazines completely designed by the students of the college would be considered for the award. A special endorsement from the principal has to be submitted in this regard.
