Convocation day at Providence College

Chengannur: The convocation ceremony of the first batch of degree students of Providence College of Engineering was held here. Dr Kuncheria P Issac, the vice-chancellor of Abdul Kalam Technological University, inaugurated the event in which the first batch that began in 2015 gathered.

Almost 86 percent of the first-batch students of the college have been successfully placed in jobs via campus recruitment.

Within four years of its inception, Providence College has won several laurels including the prestigious JCA Best Campus Award to this year's Sagi state award.

As the 8th semester results show, the college is placed 5th among self-financing colleges and is placed 13th among all institutions under the erstwhile Kerala Technological University, now renamed as the Abdul Kalam Technological University.

The Electrical Engineering department of the college has been securing a 100 percentage win since the last two years and stands first in the university.

Dr Kuncheria congratulated students who had also excelled in fields other than engineering.

College patron George Mathew, Chairperson Mariamma George, Director Dr K G Balakrishnan, Principal Dr Santhosh P Mathew and, Dean Dr Jean V Kurien spoke during the event.
