Manorama Horizon on Thursday held a free webinar on 'Making Mathematics less difficult,' presented by CA Biju Ramkrishna Pillai, CEO of Tutorwaves Solutions. Students, teachers, parents, and others from various platforms actively participated in the second episode of a webinar series organized by Manorama Horizon during the lockdown.
The one-hour session talked about why generally maths is a difficult subject for students, the systemic issues, and various approaches to simplify it. By drawing an analogy to building a river raft, the speaker demonstrated how mastering maths can help in improving problem solving skills, which is one of the vocational demands of this century.
The listeners also got an opportunity to interact with CA Biju Ramkrishna Pillai to discuss the significance and prospects of having a solid foundation in maths. Rather than discussing mere tips and tricks which act only as temporary, quick fix, the presenter tried to get into the root causes.
Moreover, he discussed the role played by each of the stakeholders – parents, teachers, and students. The question-and-answer session was well utilized by many of the participants.
