Thiruvananthapuram: A Fee Regulatory Committee under Justice R Rajendra Babu has finalised the past four years' fees of MBBS courses offered by five self-financing medical colleges in the State.
The fees were fixed without revising the existing temporary fee structure of students admitted to Amala, Jubilee, Pushpagiri, Kolenchery and Gokulam medical colleges between the academic years 2017-18 and 2020-21.

The tuition fee of five colleges for 2020-21 has been fixed at Rs 6,55,500, besides a special fee, ranging between 46,583 and 86,600, for the first year. The special and hostel fees for the following years will be different for each college.

The tuition fees for 2019-2020 has been fixed at Rs 6.16 lakh, Rs 5.60 lakh for 2018-19, and Rs Rs 4.85 lakh for 2017-18.

The colleges had informed the panel last year that they would abide by the fees fixed by the committee. The order of the fee structure was issued based on the colleges' assurance.

The college managements have submitted relevant documents to the committee to finalise the fees for the next academic year.
