Here is how Anjali crossed the Civil Service barrier in her 7th attempt

Thiruvananthapuram: Anjali Bhavana (32), daughter of Dr PP Souhradan, a native of Sreekaryam made the state proud by bagging the 463rd rank in this year’s All India Civil Services exam. Her success is quite special as Anjali has attended the interviews quite a number of times. She often didn’t get selected as she fell short of meagre marks in the final round of interview. Anjali, who has been attending the Civil Services exam since 2013, had passed the prelims and the mains five times and had attended the interviews. But, the fifth time proved lucky for Anjali, who is clearly excited.

If the interviews of the Indian Forest Services, that she had attended twice too are included, then she would have attended the Civil Services exam for an impressive seven times. Anjali is hopeful that she would get the Indian Railway Services or the Indian Police Services as she has been included in the rank list. She had been working as a probationary officer at the State Bank of India. Anjali currently works as a High Court assistant.

Her father Dr. PP Sauhradan hails from Kanjikuzhi in Alapppuzha. His father TN Padmanabhan, who is one of the early workers of the Communist Party in the state, had given interesting names for his seven children. Swagatham, Swathanthryan, Samathwan, Sahodaryan, Souhradan, Souhardan and Santhosh represent some of incredible ideals that Padmanabhan had wished to impart in his kids. Anjali’s mother Dr. T Bhavana retired as the joint director of the Western Ghats Development Cell.
