Polytechnic lateral entry: Apply before 20 July

The online applications for lateral entry to the second year of the three-year Engineering / Technology diploma courses at the polytechnic colleges in Kerala could be submitted until 20 July. Selected students can enter the program in semester 3 and could complete the course in just two years.

The applicants should have passed plus two/ Vocational Higher Secondary/ National Council for Vocational Education and Training/ State Council of Vocational Training/ Kerala Government Certificate Examination in Engineering within 2 chances with Maths, Physics and Chemistry as the core subjects. Besides, they should fulfil the minimum marks criteria too.

The selection would be based on the marks scored by the candidates in specific subjects for the eligibility test. There is no separate examination for entry.

Separate application should be submitted via the link ‘Application to MANAGEMENT QUOTA’ for the management quota seats in Aided/ private management colleges. Besides, the hard copy of the application should be submitted at the respective institutes.

Seats

There are 1155 seats in the government/ aided sector. Meanwhile, 179 seats are up for grabs in the Institutes of Human Resources Development and 36 seats in colleges of Co-operative Academy of Professional Education. There are 6 vacant seats in Keltron Tool Room Research and Training Centre (KELTRAC) and 556 seats in the private colleges. There is a total of 1932 lateral entry seats in the state.
